Modified Activated Carbon with pH Buffering
MgO activated carbon is a modified product in which magnesium oxide is incorporated into the carbon. It is used for pH-sensitive solutions such as sucrose liquor: when pH falls, the MgO buffers the liquor, suppressing sucrose inversion and colour rebound.
The product retains the carbon's well-developed pore structure and decolorizing capacity, making it suitable for sugar refining stages that demand both decolorization and stable pH, reducing the load on downstream neutralization and adjustment steps.
